- Authors
Younger Jr., K. Lawson
- Abstract
The article examines the differences between the deportation practices of Israelites of Assyrian King Tiglath-Pileser III and Sargon II, highlighting the impact of their rulership on Israel. It investigates how the rulership of Tiglath-Pileser saw Israel becoming a vassal state surrounded by Assyrian districts, Assyrian inscriptions and archaeological evidence, and the incorporation by both kings of the Israelite troops into the Assyrian army. Also discussed is the biblical book 2 Kings.
