- Abstract
An essay is presented on Baptist involvement with selected American Indians from 1674 to 1875. Topics covered include the involvement of Indians in white-dominated Baptist churches, the emergence of all-Indian Baptist churches and the examined identity of Indian Baptists. It discusses the changes in Baptist strategy in introducing Baptist faith to American Indians in the early nineteenth century, the missionaries called the Gospel Rangers and missionary activities of Baptists.
