An essay on Baptist Sunday school teacher Henrietta Cornelia Mears is presented. It focuses on her time at the Fidelis Sunday school, part of the First Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the early twentieth century. The author examines Mears' relations with First Baptist Church pastor William Bell Riley, noting Riley's antisemitism.
