- Abstract
The article discusses the history of the Women's Auxiliary of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc. (PNBC), an African American Baptist group established in 1961, considering their activities to promote education, foreign missions, and health. Early officers of the Women's Auxiliary included its first president Uvee Ross Mdodana Arbouin; Minnie L. Bruce as vice president; and Edna Moten as second vice president. Other subjects considered include finance for the Auxiliary, the civil rights movement, and women as Baptist preachers in the PNBC.
