- Abstract
The research aims at conducting a historical analytical study to identify the history of Sebastia in the Frankish era. It included the importance of the geographical location of Sabastia, its different names throughout history, its administrative subordination, and the feudal families that rotated over the rule of Sebastia. And its role in presenting the Sarangandi of the Kingdom of Jerusalem and the role of the knights templard ( Darwiya) in the protection of new settlers and Muslim prisoners in the town. The study also mentioned the type of agricultural land classification and the quality of crops and trees that it was famous for. The study also mentions the cathedral, which was transformed after the defeat of the Franks in the east to a mosque. The researchers used historical descriptive analytical methodology based on the original Arab and Latin sources, The most important results are that the town of Sebastia, the only town in which the bourgeois court was held in the fiefdom of Nablus due to its religious status, it became a bishopric and participated in the meetings of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, in addition to the presence and concentration of In addition to the establishment of a center for Muslim prisoners without the rest of the villages in feudalism.
