- Abstract
The article discusses the United Jewish Appeal (UJA)-Federation of New York's communal structure under the leadership of John Ruskay. It focuses on how Ruskay deepened and expanded what the Jewish community offered its members. It highlights the developments made by the federation including recognition of the importance of team-building and interdisciplinary approaches. Focal to the article are the changes in the relationship between UJA-Federation and all its affiliated agencies.
