- Abstract
The article discusses how JDC honorary executive vice president Ralph Goldman's approach of Jewish renewal was translated into practice by JDC in its effort to create Jewish Community Centers (JCC) in the former Soviet Union during the late 1980s. Under Goldman's leadership, the goal of JDC was to reclaim Jews for the Jewish people. Goldman introduce the notion that there can be post-assimilationist Jewish community.
