The article discusses research on support mechanisms for caregivers of seriously ill anorexia nervosa patients. It references a study led by Simone Raenker at King's College, London in England that was published in "International Journal of Eating Disorders" in 2012 that explored objective and subjective burden as well as social support in 224 parents and 28 partners of 178 in-patients in Great Britain. It cites factors that may help predict distress level like degree of patient dependency.
