- Title
RESISTING CHINA - BEHIND THE REVIVING SOUTH CHINA SEA DISPUTES.
- Authors
Farrer, Mark
- Abstract
The article focuses on the territorial disputes in the South China Sea. It says that a confrontation at the Scarborough Shoal started on April 10, 2012 when the Philippine warship tried to arrest Chinese fishermen for illegal entry and poaching in Philippine water. It states that the 2012 has seen a revival of the territorial seizures since Beijing seized the Philippines-claimed Mischief Reef in 1994. It says that Japan and South Korea have the interest to prevent the regional Chinese hegemony.
