- Abstract
The article reports on the impact of corporate mergers and acquisitions on the company's stockholders. Financial executives often take on varying roles such as manager, director, and employee and during hostile takeovers the different roles can become confused. A hypothetical situation has been created where a chief financial officer must make sense of conflicting responsibilities and ethical confusion. The goods manufacturer ARS Inc. has been taken over by the holding company Harris Group Inc. They feel that ARS Inc. will increase its worth by changing its long term businesses strategy.
