- Abstract
The article focuses on the development of drugs. One of the reasons for drug development failures is suboptimal pharmacokinetics, while efficacy failures is attributed to low concentration of drug reaching the target for an inappropriate amount of time. In addressing such problem, a new experimental approach, Phase O or microdosing, has been developed in which subpharmacological, trace doses of drug administered to human subjects.
