- Title
Forest Taxation--Who Will Speak for the Landowner?
- Authors
Cushing, Tamara
- Abstract
The author discusses the significance of the U.S. Forest Service in voicing out the concerns of the private forestland owners towards the tax policies imposed on forestlands. It mentions that the agency has been a strong supporter of research in taxation, and has been a major source of information about taxation. It states that the agency has to maintain its education role because landowners are becoming more educated and are seeking for information on taxation.
