Implementing a sustainable integrated management system in a university must be the first step for the transition to a sustainable university. The systemic approach and the process mining leads to increase the efficiency of the process and activities and sensitizes the personnel and provides a structure for the sustainable development of the university. Using the project management approach is a very important step in understanding the interactions between the involved processes and to assure a correct work flow for the management system functionality. The system must be based on an effective knowledge management and must be based on the quality assurance principles and techniques. This integrated approach involves significant change in culture, values and organizational structures. In this paper are presented the particularities (project management approach, process mining techniques, project quality, and knowledge management aspects) of the implementation of a sustainable management system in universities.
