- Abstract
This article provides a narrative analysis of the case of Qamar Jahan & Anr. vs Dr. Nisar Ahmed Tyagi & Ors, which involves a medical negligence complaint filed by the family of Mr. Abdul Sattar, who passed away in 1999. The family accused Dr. Tyagi and Dr. M. Prakash Hospital of negligence, alleging failure to diagnose hepatitis and provide adequate care. The defense argued that they followed standard medical practices and that the patient's condition was critical. The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission found no negligence on the part of the doctors or hospitals involved and dismissed the complaint. This case offers insights into the complexities of handling patient care and complaints in India.
