- Abstract
Given the evidence that there is an increase in interest in the Social Economy in Europe, and specifically in Spain, the aim is to determine the institutional recognition of the social economy in Spain and compare it with the practical conception within the political sphere. For this, the political discourse materialized in legislative texts, the policies for the promotion of the Social Economy and their budgets, and the organization of the sector to carry out actions of political incidence are analyzed. As a main result, it should be noted that, despite the approval of the Social Economy Law, a reflection of an ambitious political discourse in terms of recognition and promotion, in practice, promotion policies have not been modified and budgets have not been increased.
