- Abstract
An essay is presented that examines the political meaning and purpose of the exhibition "What About Converging Extremes?" which took place in Malaysia. Topics include a discussion of the beliefs of the exhibition curator Wong Hoy Cheong; a discussion of nation-building and political beliefs in Malaysia at the time; and a discussion of the artistic establishment and opportunities for young Malay artists to break into the art world.
