- Abstract
Is language diversity and respect for the mother tongue of immigrant children at school a factor of cohesion and social equality? All those who work with children nowadays are asking themselves this question as these children live in multicultural and multilingual contexts that exist across all European countries. How do you deal with the children's diversity, their history, their relationship to the world, to knowledge, to languages and how do you give these children more linguistic power and more desire for language? Such is the challenge for children, one of better access to knowledge, of higher academic success, of bettering their potential, their ability to live together and of sharing.
