- Abstract
This article presents a case report of a 35-year-old Chinese woman who initially presented with symptoms resembling idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM), a rare autoimmune disorder affecting muscles. However, further investigation revealed that she had legionnaire's disease (LD), a bacterial infection that mimicked the symptoms of IIM. The patient's diagnosis was confirmed through pathogen screening, and she was successfully treated with antibiotics. The case highlights the importance of considering infectious etiologies when diagnosing conditions that mimic IIM and emphasizes the need for a comprehensive diagnostic approach.
