- Authors
Walker, Scott
- Abstract
The article focuses on Mali, a country dependent on aid due to lack of food as a result of fighting and drought. The search for independence of the Tuaregs through The National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (MNLA) is presented along with a coup led by mid-level officer Amadou Sanogo which was taken advantaged off by three Arabic jihadist groups. Results of the intervention of the French are discussed as well as issues involving a regional crisis, external aid dependence, among others.
