- Abstract
The article profiles several dentists who served in the World War II in the U.S. It cites that Lt. Weedon Osborne was commissioned as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps in 1917 and was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously while Alexander G. Lyle joined the U.S. Navy Dental Corps and the first dentist to be a flag officer. It adds that Ben Solomon was assigned as regimental dental officer against his will and was awarded the Medal of Honor after his death.
