- Abstract
The article discusses a research study on increasing dimensionality of conventional flow cytometry for heterogeneous cell population phenotypic analysis. It references a study by S.C. Bendal et al in the 2011 issue of "Science" that used the mass cytometry approach for measuring 34 different human bone marrow cellular parameters on a single-cell basis. It also notes the limitations of mass cytometry and its lack of sensitivity compared to fluorescence detection with the use of quantum-efficient dyes.
