- Abstract
The article presents a study on the effectiveness and feasibility of the biomaterial chitosan as a replacement for sodium alginate as thickener in the pretreatment process for ink-jet printing. The researchers used 100 percent unmercerized, bleached, scoured, singed plain-weave cotton fabric and proposed a two-bath chitosan treatment to reduce the neutralization effect in the mixing of the sodium bicarbonate and the chitosan solution in the pretreatment process of the print paste preparation.
