- Title
Reaping Deep Web Rewards Is a Matter of Semantics.
- Authors
Goth, Greg
- Abstract
The article focuses on the plan of Internet developers to develop a case-sensitive semantic Web. It notes that Google and Kosmix Health Search are researching on the matter with the anticipation that such advancement would offer users with more results which are related to their searches. Furthermore, it cites the researches done by some academic and commercial institutions to come up with the semantically enriched results to provide users. However, Nancy Ide, the chairman of the computer science department at Vassar College, expresses that such plan is not promising a near-term resolution and adds that small search engines might have the answer at hand. But Anand Rajaraman of Kosmix also expresses his confidence on their taxonomy-and-topic approach.
