This paper highlights the different sorts of derivative contracts that are available to Islamic practitioners to hedge their risks. These contracts are based on the Quran, Sunnah and Hadith as well as Fiqh jurisprudence and are a starting point for companies that wish to abide by Shariah law but still be effective in managing their financial risks.
