- Abstract
The present study has as its theme the surveillance and the society of biopolitical control, emphasizing the connection with the penal system and the technologies arranged in the safety practices. We have as a research problem how and in what way do the "new" security mechanisms for security work in the biopolitical model of the penal state? It is concluded that the current control model based on risks and algorithms employs surveillance (and its "new" technologies) in a selective security activity, adopting the "scientific/technological" discourse as an excuse for discriminatory maintenance of a biopolitics of criminal activity aimed at the death of specific social groups and individuals. Finally, the methodology used includes a phenomenological-hermeneutic approach, a method of monographic procedure and research technique by indirect documentation.
