- Abstract
Tolerance for salinity, agroindustrial efficiency, and resistance to diseases were appraised in a group of rice mutants obtained by means of mutation radioinduction, starting from the J-112 variety. Results show significant differences in the analized characteristics of radiomutants, and differences between those radomutants and the donating variety. Radiomutants RM-12. RM-41. and RM-42. besides standing out for their high tolerance for salinity, boasted the highest agroindustrial efficiency and a good behavior against the main plagues and diseases, which makes of them likely candidates for new varieties in the production from areas affected by salinity.
