The article discusses Deferred Prosecution Agreements (DPAs) and Non-Prosecution Agreements (NPAs) used by government prosecutors to prevent illegal conduct by big corporations and avoid filing criminal charges against them. It cited financial firm HSBC's DPA in December 2012 and the implications of Judge John Gleeson's approval and oversight of the DPA.
