- Abstract
While in recent years Lithuania being unable to curb inflation there arises a necessity to investigate the tendencies of execution of price sustainability criterion, factors influencing those tendencies, evaluate the ties with other macroeconomic indexes that would help to reveal the problematic aspects, possible ways to solve the problems and escape the risk to be excluded from the competent members of EMU again in the future. Having regard to the aforementioned, the analysis of changes in tendencies of inflation indexes in Lithuania have been performed, the characteristics of the status and expression of the latter have been stated, applying regressive analysis the relationship with index of real gross domestic product has been evaluated and Phillips model of the relation between the rate of inflation and the rate of unemployment taking Lithuania as an example has been prepared in the article. Having performed the economic analysis alternative means to curb the inflation have been set.
