China stakes its Tibet future on greater repression.
Abstract
The author reflects on the personnel changes in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) in China. The author argues that Qiangba Puncog is seen as weak for governing the region unlike Padma Choling who maintain unity among several ethnic groups in Tibet. An overview on the significant events on the personnel changes in the TAR which took place on January 14, 2010 is offered.
