- Abstract
The article focuses on three andradites or garnets found in the Baluchistan region of Pakistan. The stones were previously unidentified and were loaned to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) based in Santa Monica, California by gem dealer Farooq Hashmi, who obtained them in Peshawar in 2004. The stones have color ranging from brownish yellow-orange to yellowish orange-brown. In terms of fluorescence, the stones showed inert to long and short-wave ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Inclusions are present in the stones based on microscopic examination.
