- Abstract
The article presents information on the decisions by the courts regarding the maritime issues under the admiralty and maritime law of the U.S. The cases regarding the claims by seamen were decided by the Supreme Court of the U.S. under the Federal Employer's Liability Act (FELA) and the claims against the seamen were brought under the Jones Act claim by the seamen. The death of an individual due to neglect or wrongful act comes under the Death on the High Seas Act and the law of the sea. Information on the cases regarding other issues like maritime insurance, piracy, maritime damages and the jurisdiction of the maritime law is also presented.
