- Abstract
The article discusses the history of the abstracts and indexing journal originally known as "Documentatieblad," which was renamed to "African Studies Abstracts (ASA)" and later to "African Studies Abstracts Online," published by the African Studies Centre (ASC) in Leiden, The Netherlands from 1968 through 2013. An overview of the ASC Library, Documentation and Information Department (LDI), including its library catalogue, is provided. The ASA's articles, including article length, are discussed.
