- Abstract
The article explores the preschool birth stories project that involved families in the development of an emergent curriculum which focuses on the teacher-child dyad and touches on culturally responsive pedagogy, or teaching that is responsive to the diversity in a classroom. It outlines goals and strategies of the project that include planning in broad strokes, shaping the curriculum from family perspectives and knowledge and document learning in ways that support family-teacher collaboration.
