- Abstract
Introduction: This study aimed at verifying the effectiveness of the training of imagery associated with music, in groups of different age, the improvement of the pitch to bid on free basketball. Materials and Methods: The sample of the study was 12 subjects (n=12) males, divided into two groups of 6, taking an age group between 13 and 15 years and another between 18 and 31 years, practitioners of competitive basketball and belonging to two times the city of Campos dos Goitacazes. The instruments used were: to work with the music was used appliances mp3 player, with recorded music chosen through questionnaires. To assess the imaginative ability of the participants was applied on the questionnaire MIQ--R. We performed 10 sessions of imagery associated with music in both groups for three weeks. None of the groups surveyed had, in a systematic manner, pitches bid for freedom during the study period. Results: The results showed that there was statistical difference between the groups participating in the research. Discussion: It appears that there was a difference in the use of pitches Bidding for free after the proposed interventions, showing that for these groups surveyed, age was interference in driving ability and imaginative.
