- Abstract
The investigation was carried out in the Bolívar canton, province of Manabí, Ecuador. This was aimed at identifying improvement actions for the implementation of collaborative planning in the agrifood chain of Arabic coffee with its focal company in the city of Calceta, Manabí. For its effect, a methodology with three phases was designed: diagnosis of the organizational processes of the agrifood chain of Arabic coffee (Phase 1), modification of the fundamental aspects that affect the structure of the CPFR application (Collaborative planning, forecasting and resupply) in the object of study (Phase 2), proposal for the implementation of the CPFR of the agrifood chain (Phase 3). Where an out of information collection activities was carried out applying two questionnaires, one for the producers and one for the commercial ones. Collaborative planning was evaluated through a checklist that was applied to the actors in the chain. Once the necessary information is obtained, the characterization of the agri-food chain under study will be needed. Obtain the value of the collaborative planning level in the chain as low (1). From this, the variables (Information, Plans, Purchases, Inventory Management, Distribution of controls, Indicators for performance evaluation and Exceptions) of this are evaluated, where it is as a whole affected between 1.18 and 1, 66 being a very low value. A SWOT matrix was proposed, and throughthe correlation of its variables (strengths, opportunities, weaknesses, threats), improvement actions were obtained for the application of collaboration in the chain.
