An essay is presented on the application of comprehensive methods to examine the theory and the practical implementation of twelve-tone tonality expressed in the music of American composer and music theorist George Perle. Methods include the sum pairings within tetrachords and semitonal surface voice leading between hexachords. It notes the significance of distinguishing arrays to analyze the basic harmonic elements in such tonality.
