- Abstract
The article presents the survey conducted by the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) that investigates the financial and psychological impact of crime on small retail companies in Australia. The AIC surveyed small retail firms, focusing on service stations, pharmacies, news agencies, liquor outlets, restaurants and general stores. It features losses caused by burglary and shoplifting on firms. It presents the indirect costs of the said crime to companies and its psychological effects to employees.
