- Title
Rhyme and reason: Searching for poems in medical practice.
- Authors
Maurer, Brian T.
- Abstract
The article presents the author's views concerning the definition of the word POEMS that appeared on a medical journal. According to him, it was his first encounter of the word POEMS in a medical journal which simply means patient-oriented evidence that matters. Moreover, he suggests that poetry has fallen out of favor especially in medical journals, where evidence-based outcome reviews and studies have become publishing's gold standard.
