- Authors
Rossiter, Marian J.; Derwing, Tracey M.; Jones, Vivienne M. L. O.
- Abstract
This article discusses the use of picture stories to study communication strategies, fluency, pronunciation, and vocabulary development with second language learners. The criteria for the selected picture books is discussed, which was based on story content, cultural content, and the pictures themselves. The pictures are evaluated in terms of realistic proportions, the clarity of the actions, and whether or not there is enough consideration in the picture to allow a reader to understand the story without reading the actual text.
