- Abstract
Genetically modified potato virus X is used as a template for inorganic hybrid nano‐ and mesoscopic architectures as discussed by P. van Rijn, U. Commandeur, and co‐workers on page 43. A genetically added peptide induces biomineralization leading to controlled formation of SiO2 providing PVX decorated with SiO2 nanoparticles as well as mesoscopic super‐structures with the possibility to further target the PVX surface via immuno‐gold labelling.
