- Abstract
Dihydrosilanes tethered with two thioether moieties, [2-(RSCH)CH]SiH(: R = t-Bu; : R = i-Pr; : R = Ph), were synthesized. Dihydrosilane did not react with methanol, benzaldehyde, and carboxylic acids; this result may suggest very weak activation of the SiH bonds in . The corresponding dibromosilanes and diiodosilanes were synthesized by dihalogenation of using N-bromosuccinimide and I, respectively, whereas the dichlorosilanes were synthesized by reaction of 2-(RSCH)CH Li with SiCl. Reaction of with [PtCl (cod)] in the presence of EtN gave the corresponding bissilylplatinum complex, [Pt{SiH[2-(RSCH)- CH]}], the structure of which was determined by NMR and IR spectrometry and X-ray crystallography. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
