- Title
Russia's crackdowns are jeopardizing its science.
- Authors
Kondrashov, Fyodor
- Abstract
The author reflects on the impact that Russian laws designed to curtail the influence of foreign-funded nongovernmental organizations will have on Russian scientific research. He comments on the closure of the private Dynasty Foundation (DF) as its founder, Dmitry Zimin, was designated a foreign agent and Russian news media claimed DF was anti-Russian. He mentions the repression of scientific research under the Soviet Union and suggests the policies will drive out scientific collaboration.
