- Abstract
The article presents an in-depth analysis of the anonymous 15th-century European vocal motet "Cados cados." Introductory details are given regarding the discovery of the piece and its unique quality of featuring Hebrew text for its basis. Accounts are given reviewing the manuscript source of the piece and its interpretation by music historians, focusing on theories regarding its national origin and unattributed composer. Additional analysis is offered for both the text and the musical features of the work. A transcription of the piece is included in an appendix.
