Title
Acoustic conversion efficiency.
Abstract
The article focuses on the acoustic conversation efficiency that describes what fraction of the input power to a machine is converted to noise. It states that noise reduction of a machine should be aimed at reducing the magnitude of the acoustic conversion efficiency, and focusing attention on the motive power of the machine. It suggests that quietness comes from careful design for low acoustic conversion efficiency.
