- Abstract
The paper analyzes the family relationships of young gay and lesbian youth, including those established with mother, father, and siblings; as well as the moment of crisis generated in the family before the knowledge of the homosexual orientation and the various ways of facing it; in addition to the subsequent acceptance process. It is approached from a qualitative methodology of hermeneutic type, in which information was collected through open interviews that describe the experience of five city participants, young men and women, with different professions and jobs. In family relationships, the emotional bonds established with each member of the family are identified, the daily coexistence, moments of rupture from the parental crisis generated before the revelation of the homosexual orientation of the son or daughter, as well as the re-establishment of these relationships, from parental acceptance.
