Furthermore, a shortcoming of aesthetics compared to other disciplines of medicine is that patient assessment and treatment outcome evaluation are performed in a non-standardized, subjective manner. In clinical practice, assessment is based on the patient's aesthetic desires and their budget, as well as the practitioner's treatment modalities and experience and capabilities.
