- Title
Another query about the Lucan infancy narrative and its parallels.
- Authors
Fitzmyer, Joseph A.
- Abstract
The article offers a response to the critical note published in the 1994 issue entitled "A Model for the Lukan Infancy Narratives?," by Lou H. Silberman, in which he criticizes Silberman's assumptions about Luke's access to certain rabbinical literature and versions of the Talmud. Topics include parallels in the Lucan infancy stories of the annunciation and birth of John and Jesus, as well as Silberman's reference to the Mishna.
