- Abstract
The article discusses the theories on the occurrence of auditory hallucinations in patients with schizophrenia. The experience of an auditory hallucinations are depicted by some researchers as similar to the voices heard by person when falling asleep or waking up. It discusses the activation of the Broca's area in the brain when auditory hallucinations are being experienced by person and may have troubled in filtering out environmental sounds and detect patterns in random external stimuli.
