- Abstract
The article focuses on characterization of endothelial-dependent vasodilator signaling sympatholytic role during handgrip exercise. Topics include modulation of sympathetic vasoconstriction from vasoactive compounds present during muscle contraction such as adenosine triphosphate (ATP), reduction of forearm vascular conductance (FVC) and blood flow from infusion of phenylephrine-mediated vasoconstriction (PE) and endothelium-derived hyperpolarization (EDH) as a powerful signaling mechanism.
