- Abstract
This article addresses some of the most pertinent issues raised in the literature about the palliative care needs of people with learning disabilities. Person-centred practice is suggested as a framework with which to enhance the quality of life of a dying person. Good practice from the literature is shown through case studies and reflective activities. The nursing skills of facilitator, advocate and educator can be utilised in the support of the person with learning disabilities, his or her family/carers and other professionals in palliative care.
